Knocking noise from transmission? i have a 2003 kia sorento. when i slightly press the gas there is a knocking noise coming from the transmission but if i press a little harder it goes away seems to stop once it goes to a higher gear.. My transmission is making a knocking sound when at idle, in gear. i put it in neutral and it stops ( while driving). however when i got it home, it was making the same sound. thought it might be a push rod, or valve ( exhaust is somewhat "holy") but crawled under and it was coming from the tranny.
